Heathrow is a census-designated place and an unincorporated suburban community in Seminole County, Florida, United States. Heathrow is on the I-4 Corridor in Central Florida, 19 miles northeast of Orlando and 38 miles southwest of Daytona Beach. Heathrow comprises a master-planned, private gated residential community of approximately 2,200 homes, and the Heathrow International Business Center, an office park. Rated #4 in Best Places to Raise a Family in Seminole County by niche.com The population was 4,068 at the 2000 census. Heathrow is home to the national headquarters of the American Automobile Association (AAA). The Heathrow residential community consists of 2061 homes in 30 different sub-developments. All of these sub-developments are part of the Heathrow Master Association. Each sub-development is also incorporated as part of its own Home Owner’s Association or is part of an association that includes more than one sub-development. With a median home value of $373,400 and median rent of $1,374 Heathrow is considered one of the most exclusive communities in Central Florida.

Education

Heathrow is part of the Seminole County Public school system, rated #6 of 2018 Suburbs with the Best Public Schools in Florida. Schools directly within their borders include Choices in Learning Charter School, Heathrow Elementary, Lake Mary Highschool, Seminole Highschool, however, depending on zoning students may able to attend many of the other great public and private schools located in Seminole County.

Entertainment

Inside the main plaza of Heathrow, there is a large movie theater and various eateries.Heathrow is also very close in proximity to downtown Sanford and downtown Orlando, both of which offers sightseeing and great food. There are events held regularly and many residents express their enjoyment of the community's events.

Recreation

On the first Wednesday of every month, Heathrow hosts an event they call WineART Wednesdays which features a wide variety of local artists, food trucks, and entertainment that you're not going to want to miss! From Farmers Markets every Saturday morning to the Senior Center for adults with a taste for bingo and various crafts there is something for everyone to do in Heathrow. Not to mention Lake Mary Sports Complex is located only a few miles from Heathrow and features tennis courts, a skate park, baseball fields, soccer fields, a splash park and many other great venues for all ages.
